If you’re a fan of Alien movies like myself, you might have wondered what font is used in these movies that we all love and cherish. Alien movie series began with Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979). There are 6 main movies in the core series, plus 2 crossover films and 1 prequel from 2024. While not all these movies used the same font for its branding, there is one that appeared to be the most prominent – the Helvetica Neue – Black. While Helvetica isn’t a free font if you really want a professional typeface in your creative projects it is a great find and a great purchase. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a similar free option, I found that the Creato Display Font looks really similar and provides a great free alternative for the Helvetica font. I especially loved how the bold typeface looked on the 2024. prequel movie – Alien Romulus, so if you wish to incorporate a clean but strong typeface into your designs enjoy this freebie and make sure to check out other great options as well.

Romero is modern, bold, sans font. It’s a classic that won’t disappoint you if you need a strong, clean title in your design. And it does look very similar to the black “Alien” typeface from the Alien Romulus logo.
Causten font family is a sans serif typeface that will give you a lot of freedom in your designs. It comes with 18 font styles and it will serve you well if you need multiple weights of the same typeface.
Akmorn Grotesque is also a fantastic choice. It also comes with 18 different font styles, from thin to black. You really can’t go wrong with this one. Plus, it offers extensive multilingual support.
Finally, I found the Golgix font and I know it stands out a little. It doesn’t quite match the simplicity of the rest alternatives, and we can’t really say that it’s similar to the Alien Romulus title font. But all that aside, I think it matches the sci-fi vibe perfectly. It has that futuristic yet retro feel to it, a clean, robotic look that screams Alien to me so I added it here as well…in case you feel especially creative.
